Well, I delivered my bundle of joy on Thursday 4/24 at 12:54 pm. She was 7lbs 5oz and was 19.5 in long. When she was born she had some fluid in her lungs which was causing her to breath fast every now and then and she also had a slight fever. Needless to say the doctors kept her in the hospital for an extra 2 days. I got to leave on Saturday and it was the most heart-breaking experience that I have ever had to deal with. We finally got to pick her up and take her home yesterday so that was very exciting. Nick is doing great as a new daddy and for someone who was afraid to hold babies, he is doing a great job. He fed her and burped her for the first time yesterday. It was so cute. So Reegan has not latched on, so I am unable to breast feed. I did get a pump from the hospital but they said I would have to get an electric pump or else my milk would not come in. Today my mom and I went to Target and we actually found an electric/battery operated pump for about $40. I used it this afternoon and it works great. I'm able to pump about 1 oz from both breasts combined. Hopefully my milk comes in soon, but I think it already has, it's still just more collestrum than milk. I've been having to give Reegan formula since I'm not producing as much as she is able to eat. I think things will work themselves out in the next day or two. Reegan has her first checkup tomorrow, so we will see how much weight she's lost so far.

she is so cute. I bet you are so glad to have her home. I hope you are adjusting well. Breastfeeding is hard. Stick with it. Did you know you can rent a hospital grade pump at the breast feeding store on Guadalupe and Ellsworth for $30 a month? I had to get one with Ian in the beginning to get things going. It is so worth it and way cheaper than formula. Also if you need the name of a good lactation consultant let me know. I found one that really helped me with Ian.
Congrats, Reegan is a doll!
hey did i give you that outfit?? the one you had her in the car seat and the one your hubby was burping her? if so....thats awesome!!! im so glad you have her home now!!! she has the biggest cheeks!! im in love!!
What a little cutie!! Love her chubby cheeks!!
Theresa she is the most beautiful little angel!! I couldn't imagine leaving your baby in the hospital that is something else. I guess it's better to make sure she is healthy. I love her name Reegan. Good luck with the breast feeding if for some reason it doesn't work you should check into maybe qualifying for WIC it will help cover the cost of formula and stuff. Well good luck!! I hope everything turns out wonderful for you!!
