Diaper cake

Yesterday I finished making a diaper cake for my friend from work's baby shower. Her husband is a BIG fan of the Chicago Cubs, hence the red white and blue. I wasn't going to use the white but Walmart ran out of ribbon, after my 3 trips to the store for more. Here is the final project.

I also made some really cute onsies with ties for when they go to church. This also came out really cute, I thought for my first attempt. My friend Amy hooked me up with some magical crafty stuff called Wonder Under. This stuff (because its not really fabric or anything) can turn any material into an iron on patch! it's AMAZING!! So you can iron this stuff to your material,t then iron your materical to the onsie, simple. For added support you can stick a simple line around the outside of the pattern. I will post pictures of the kids once I get to work. It's too hard to add them from home with my laptop. I will have to invest in a $20 wireless mouse.. On one note before I go. Reegan is potty training and she is doing great. She has made it the whole day, including during a nap in panties with no accidents. I have also taken her to the mall for 3 hours in panties with no accidents. I can't wait until she is fully trained.

Reegan's 2 year checkup

Reegan's 2 year check up was today and she is doing great!! She weighs 31 lbs (90%) and is 34" tall ( 65%) and the doctor said she is VERY advanced on her speech. He asked me if we have noticed any problems about her speaking and I was like, "well we can't get her to be quite for more than 1 minute.." I thought it was comical but the doc did not. He said that by this time she should know about 50 words and should be trying to put two words together to start forming sentences. About that time Reegan said " Mommy you read the book first" and the doctor's mouth just dropped open. Then Reegan said " mommy all done, have my sticker please" and he was truly amazed. He just couldn't believe it. This was the doctor that she saw when she was first born and he gave Reegan the okay to leave the hospital so he enjoyed seeing her again. I asked him about a height estimation and he gave said that Reegan would be about 5'5 which is taller than me! Colten is doing great and can already roll over from his stomach to his back ( his been doing this for about 3 weeks) and he almost has it from his back to his stomach. All he wants to do is stand up and I measured him today and he is 24 1/2" making him 10" shorter than Reegan at less than 4 months old. Things are going great with the family and my classes are awesome. I just started two new classes yesterday and I am now over half way done with my associates degree. I will be done around June of next year but I'm not going to walk in graduation until I get my associates degree. I think that's it for now and I will post pictures of Reegans b-day once I put batteries in my camera. Until next time....

Quick update - 2 months

Colten is 2 months now and had his check-up yesterday. He weighs 10lbs 1oz which puts him in the 10th percentile, he is 22in long (25th percentile ) and his head is 15in (10th percentile ) overall he is just small and skinny. I can't believe it because Reegan was always chubby. We started giving Colten rice cereal in his bottle at night which helps him sleep through the night. I have to feed him between 830-9 and then he is up at like 330 to 4 at the latest to eat again. He is smiling and laughing all the time and it just melts our hearts. After I feed Colten in the morning I get up to get ready for work so I just lay him on our bed. Nick will get up and say " Hi son!" and Colten gives him the biggest smile and giggle. Nick truly loves having a son, and I love seeing them together.
Reegan is going to be 2 next month so we are having her party on 4/24/10 at my house. I will need address... again for invitations. ( I might just buy an address book too so I can stop asking all the time). She loves school (daycare) and is learning so much. We enjoy reading books and I can never just read one. she will run and say, "other book mommy" and bring me another book to read. She also likes watching her Barbie movie, Princess and the Pauper. This movie has a lot of singing which she is learning the songs and sings and dances to them in her room. We did have to put a tv and dvd player in her room, I know she's so young, but honestly I couldn't take constantly having to watch it with her. As soon as we wake her up in the morning it's, "Watch Barbie Mommy or Daddy" "Princess and the Pauper Mommy". It's super cute but I can only handle so much. sometimes she will grab my hand and take me into her room so we can hold hands and dance to the songs, I love it. She is at such an amazing age right now. She is also getting quite the little attitude which can be difficult to deal with especially when she crys over everything. We try to be as patient as possible but sometimes it's difficult.
I had my gallbladder removed about a week and a half ago. Things have been going well with the recovery but I'm still sore. It's more the muscle that hurts but it gets better everyday. Tomorrow I get my staples out which I am so thankful for. Since the incisions are healing they are starting to itch and it's hard to scratch them with staples in the way, btw I have 14 of them!!! I also started back to school 3 weeks ago and I'm once again on my way to earning my degree. I think that's all for now, nothing to really update with Nick. He is working right now which we are thankful for. Here are some pictures of the kids that were taken on Monday night.

Colten is here!!

Okay I know once again I haven't posted in a while but it has been kind of hectic with 2 kiddos. First I will start off with the delivery story:

I went in for my normal 39 week appointment which mind you was on Monday 1/11/10. I go into my appointment and the doctor says I'm due tomorrow 1/12/10. I said "What?" The doctor showed me my chart and it said 39 weeks and 6 days??? Now for the past 3 weeks my appointments have always been on Mondays. When I go in the first thing my doctor does is show me my chart of how far along I am. It is always 36weeks and 3 days, 37 weeks and 3 days, 38 weeks and 3 days, then BAM I gained an extra 3 days without even knowing it. Needless to say I was very confused. Well the doc said that if I don't go into labor this week then I would be induced on Monday 1/18/10. I told the doc that it was okay with me if I was induced today and he started laughing and completely shot down my recommendation. Then I asked if he would scrap my membranes to which he replied " I already did." I asked him what the percentage is that this would break my water and he said " This doesn't help break your water but in 35% of patients it helps to put them in labor." That pretty much concluded the appointment since I had no questions and went home. That night I had ZERO contractions and Nick and I went to sleep about 10pm. I woke up at about 11pm because MY WATER BROKE!!!!! Well, it started leaking actually. I woke Nick up, changed clothes, Nick got Reegan up and we took off for the hospital. I had all of 2 contractions on the way to the hospital and they were not painful at all. When we get there we find out that Reegan is not allowed anywhere except the waiting room, so I went back into Triage while Nick took care of Reegan. My water continued to leak out and when I was checked to see how far along I was I had dilated 1 cm since my appointment earlier that afternoon. I got back into a room and my parents met us at the hospital and my labor progressed without any complications. I got my epidural and things were great. At about 830am the nurse kept asking my if I felt like I should push and I kept telling her no. This was a big change because with Reegan I had to keep telling the nurses that I really felt like I should be pushing. Well the nurse thought it would be good for me to just try push and I did and once again, just like with Reegan, he was ready to go and they had to go find the doctor. Once he got there it was about 1 1/2 more pushes and out came our little man at 845am. The whole time I was pregnant I kept saying how big he was and how much of a monster he was going to be. Colten weight 6lbs 14oz and was 19 1/4 in long. He was so tiny! I don't have any pictures yet of when he was born since we forgot our camera and my mom hasn't uploaded her pictures yet. So here are the pictures I do have from the past week. By the way Reegan LOVES her little brother and does so amazing with him. She loves to help feed and burp him. Reegan also loves giving him kisses on the head and getting him his pacifier, even if he doesn't want it. I couldn't have asked for two better kids, we are so blessed!!!

36 week appointment

Went to the doctor yesterday and I'm 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. Little Colten is head down and my doctor said his head is "right there". I think all the walking I did on Saturday really starting moving things along naturally. My blood pressure was a little high and the doc said I just need to take it easy. Other than that I am going to start walking during my lunches at work and at night we will be taking family walks. I will keep everyone updated.

Christmas Time!

Yesterday was the family Christmas party and it was overwhelming as always but it was nice to see everyone. Reegan started being really bad, since my parents didn't give her nap, so Nick and I had to leave a little early. We then went to Nick's aunts where we had dinner and Reegan got to open some gifts. She got a baby doll that moves it's neck and arms and makes cooing sounds. Leeann bought it hoping it will help Reegan with the transition of a new baby coming home soon. She also got a new book and some sidewalk chalk. Reegan was very excited!

I have a doctor's appointment today and I'm currently 36 weeks and 3 days and I think my doctor is going to induce me soon, maybe even today. Last week when I went to the doctor my blood pressure was 155/100 and 3 weeks ago when I starting having contractions he just wanted to get me to 36 weeks before anything happened. So I have my hospital bag packed and made arraingments for Reegan tonight just in case my doctor tells me to head over to the hospital. I'm excited and I will keep everyone posted, for now though I better get back to work!

Baby Shower, update

Thank you everyone who came! I really appreciate it and I got lots of wonderful and useful things. It's starting to get more surreal that I'm a soon to be mom of two and I'm not quite sure how this transition will go. I'm hoping as smoothly as possible. At this time I don't have any new pregnancy info, I have a doctor's appointment on the 17th so we will see what happens then. I will be at 36 weeks so it will be time for me to start keeping my hospital bag in the car with me. As far as I know everything is going well but with my high blood pressure I'm sure I will have to start getting my regular ultrasounds along with my weekly appointments for the last month. I'm so excited for Christmas and Zoo Lights. Nick and I are taking Reegan next weekend and I can't wait. She is so into lights and all she says is " Look, pretty lights" I hung some lights on the mantel and a lighted reindeer on the wall and she likes to go plug them in. .. I know, probably not the safest thing for our child to be doing but all of the other plus have fillers in them so its the only thing she can plug in. I think that's it for now. I will get some of the pictures up tomorrow hopefully if I remember to bring my camera to work as my Internet is off at home :(

I curse you contractions!

I have been having contractions all week so I FINALLY called my doctor yesterday and he told me to come in right away. I left work a little early and headed down to my appointment. After sitting in the waiting room for about 45 mins I finally got called back. The doctor, who seems to forget this is my 2nd pregnancy and he delivered Reegan went over all the generic pregnancy information. He said that if I start having more than 6-8 contractions in 1 hour then I'm in labor and need to get to the hospital.. He then proceeded to tell me that I'm not allowed to go into labor for 17 (well 16 today ) more days so that I will be at least 36 weeks. I was then checked and found that I'm not dilated at all which he said was good. After all the excitement of yesterday I'm pretty sure this kiddo is coming early, how early..... hard to say but I guess I will have to hold him in for at least 16 more days!

BTW.....Baby shower is this Saturday and I haven't gotten a whole lot of RSVP's so I'm not sure how much food I should be preparing.. Please let me know if you will be in attendance and also don't forget your diapers for the GRAND PRIZE DRAWING!!! See you Saturday!

Update-a-roonie / BABY SHOWER INFO!!

SOOO it's been awhile, I'm kind of a slacker what can I say. Things have been very hetic lately! I'm finding in increasingly difficult to get anything done around the house on the weekends. Being so pregnant already and caring for a 19 month old is exahusting! Nick has been hunting a lot so he is of no help to me. His last hunt is the first weekend in December and after that he is not allowed to go ANYWHERE!!! I told him that is too close to when little Colten will be here. Oh yeah, incase you don't have Facebook, we have decided to name our little boy, Colten Dewain Cloyd. The middle name is after Nick's Papa. Also the weekend of 12/5/09..... MY BABY SHOWER!

Invitations have been sent out so family you should be receiving yours, if you haven't it's probably because I didn't have your address so please see your respective mother or mother-in-law and they should have one. It will be at my house at 12 ( noon ) . Please let me know if you need the address. I have registered at Target, probably the biggest thing I need is infant clothes/ onesies. I have also a grand prize drawing that you can be entered by bringing in a package of diapers.

So far I'm just about 32 weeks and I have gained back 4 out of the 7 pounds that I lost. I go to the doctor's today and I KNOW that I have gained more weight. I'm going every 2 weeks and my blood pressure is already getting high. I have a feeling that I will not be making it my due date so maybe they will induce me in December! Reegan still doesn't really understand that she is going to be a big sister soon, but we are working with her so that it doesn't come to that big of a shock when this little boy doesn't go away. Reegan is SO stinking smart it's ridiculus. She knows how to count to 10 and can sing about half of her ABC's. She is also talking so much now and forming sentences already. One of her favorites is " Go away Bubba" ( talking to our dog) , or "That's Daddy's remote" What a kid. She has also started repeating things that we say, well mostly what I say. OOPS!!! Her big one is Shutup Bubba, when the dog barks. Everytime she says it I immediately have to tell her that we don't say that word and we say be quite.

As for the job, I applied for a new position as a trainer. I had my second round interview yesterday and I really hope I get the job. It will be a significant increase in pay which will definitely be nice since Nick's job is really slow now. I'm not sure what else I have but I will post pictures soon, I will have to have Nick take another side pic of my GI-normous belly, until then....

Prego Pictures

I got Nick to take some pictures of me today. 20weeks and 3 days. I'm WAY bigger this time around than I was with Reegan.

New names..

Well I thought that we had names narrowed down to 2 but unfortunately people have been suggesting names that we both really like. So far we have: Landon, Braydon, Stetson ( my new favorite), Daniel and Deacon. I will be updating the Poll location on the right so make sure you all vote again. Keep in mind the middle name is going to be Dewain.

As for that I had a dr appointment yesterday ( just a regular checkup) and I've lost another pound. I'm down 7 lbs so far. This is not as drastic as it was with Reegan. I had lost 13 lbs in the first 6 months. What is different is that I'm able to eat ALL the time! Go figure. I made some banana bread last night and it was delishious and made my house smell wonderful. I brought 1 loaf to work and it was gone so fast. I offered it to one guy and he ate it before he made it back to his desk. Then he said " I hope this doesn't sound rude but I would like another piece" I gladly offered him another! That makes me feel nice knowing that my baking is yummy!

I think that was about all I had to share for right now.

IT'S A ............

BOY!!!!!
We are SOOOO excited and Nick is beyond thrilled! We have narrowed the names down to Landen and Braydon.

Long awaited post

Soooo much has been going on lately I almost don't know where to start. I will be 18 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I have my ultrasound scheduled for next Friday to determine what we are having. We are hoping for a boy but will be grateful for either. The pregnancy is going well for me. The morning sickness is slowly going away. I'm only having to take my nausea pills every other day which is really good for me.

Reegan is getting bigger every single day. She is constantly talking and saying words more and more. Some of her favorite words are: thank you, more, shoe, no, love you, eye, nose, bubba, duck, yeah, hi, hello, bye and I know there are more but those are the ones that are clear. Reegan knows how to sign more, please and drink and we are working on thank you. Reegan also knows where her nose and eyes are and she will point to them if you ask her. She has 6 teeth now and very slowly getting more. She is still the best sleeper in the world, going to bed at 7pm and she wakes up on the week ends at about 7-730am. We are trying to explain to Reegan that there is another baby on the way but she doesn't really understand yet. We are trying to get her to say different boy names to see which ones she likes or can even say. Out of the names we have picked out so far: Cooper, Colton, Braydon and Landon all she can say is Landon. I know I already have a cousin named Landon but Nick really likes that name. I've lost 6 pounds total which is not bad for me and my blood pressure has been really low so things are doing very well with that.

On a sad note Nick's grandma passed away about a month ago. It was VERY sudden. We actually had dinner with her the night before and was taken to the hospital at midnight. She later died at about 530am. This was about 7 months from the day Nick's grandpa passed. The family has been taking it very hard and there have been multiple fights about how to deal with everything. I think it's very sad that at a time like this it didn't bring the family closer together. Everyone is slowly starting to heal and when it gets a little cooler outside we will be going through all of her belongings in her storage. Nick's aunt has already asked everyone if I could have Grandma's sewing machine which I think is very special because I didn't expect anything. Sometimes when we go to Nick's aunt and uncles house ( where Grandma had been living ) Reegan will go down the hall towards Grandma's room looking for her. It's really sad to Nick and I that Reegan will not remember her Great Grandma. I'm just glad that we have pictures of them together and we will always remind Reegan of her GGMa.

I'm not sure what else to write about I don't really know of anything so until later when I post some of the pictures I have taken. You can see how crazy long and curly Reegan's hair is getting.

Names and more

Well I have decided that Nick and I are only going to pick out boy names...mostly because all we had was Reegan's name and then we had a girl. I guess I'm just trying to sway the final result a little in my favor! The names we have picked out so far are: Colton, Cooper and Brayden. We had Landen until I realized my cousins named their son that.. needless to say that is out. I think my favorite so far is Brayden. The middle name will be Dewain after Nick's grandpa who has passed away. We definitely miss him everyday and it was really hard for Nick. I will be glad if we are able to commemorate him a little in the process. We have a friend of the family who is physic and when she found out I was pregnant she said " oh Theresa is finally having her boy". I hope she's right..I will keep my fingers crossed.

Reegan is getting so big and talking more and more everyday. Her newest word and the one she uses most often is No. She doesn't use it if I ask her to do something yet but it would be if I say "Reegan do you want some milk?" No. Reegan do you want to eat. No. Everything is no. Kind of annoying but we are working with her saying yes. Reegan plays a game with her teacher at school. The teacher ( Sarah) will call out Reegans name " Reegan" ( she will kind of draw it out a little longer) and Reegan will reply "Sarah" Obviously her Aunt Sarah is very excited about this. Reegan has 4 teeth now and has some more that are about to pop through. Nick and I are hoping that she will finally have a mouth full by her 2nd birthday. Reegan also got her first haircut last Sunday. She did not enjoy it and cried almost the whole time. It was really sad to see some of her curls being cut off but her hair looks so much better. It was very uneven on the sides and now it's perfect. Nick really likes it too and says she looks like a little girl now (not that she didn't before but her hair was kind of out of control!)

Anywho I finished my first 2 classes and University of Phoenix and I got A's in both. I'm really excited and I'm almost half way done with my Associates Degree. If I stay on track I will be able to graduate by June 2010. I went to the doctor last Monday and when I got weighed they said I lost 4 pounds. I'm thinking cool, it's not like I don't have 4 pounds to loose and the nurse immediately said "Are you eating" I was like yeah. Then she asked me what was going on. I told her that I didn't know but that I am definitely eating. The baby is doing great and is right on track. I'm going in for an ultra sound on Monday and I hoping for a hint at the sex. I can't wait 5 more weeks to officially find out. Since this will be my last baby I am really hoping for a boy. Not that I wouldn't be excited for a girl, I just want a healthy baby. But I can hope! Last time I was pregnant I had 7 cousins who were also pregnant at the same time, all of us had girls except 2 who obviously had boys. This time I have 2 cousins pregnant with me and Erica found out she is having another girl and Amy will find out on Monday. I'm so excited for both of them. Erica is already a wonderful mom and I know that Amy will be too.

I don't think I have any more to talk about since I just rambled for every! I will post pictures soon

A little update

Well, I'm a little over 9 weeks pregnant now and the morning sickness is on a slow decline. Hopefully after the first trimester it will be completely gone. I go in for another ultrasound at 12 weeks and i'm hoping to get a hint at what they think the sex will be. I know that when I went in at 11 weeks with Reegan they thought it might be a girl, and they were correct. Nick can't believe it's already been over a month since we found out. This is definitely going to be a BIG change for us.

School is going well. This is my last week of classes and I have a 95% and a 96%. I can't wait to move one with new classes. These are kind of dull. It really amazes me how people in college write and spell. In fact it is really sad. I got an email from a student a couple of weeks ago and she spelled "what" wrong. It was spelled wat. At first I thought it was just a typo, no big deal, it happens to the best of us. However, further down in the email was the "wat" again spelled incorrectly. I'm really shocked that these are the people who want to be teachers and nurses. It makes me nervous for our future. The finance counselor that sits next to me works with students in the Elementary Education program. He told me about a month ago how he was on the phone with this lady and asked her why she wants to be a teacher. Apparently she went on and on about how she loves kids and working and teaching kids new things, then 2 seconds later she went off on her child. She started screaming on the phone at her kid. Doesn't hearing that make you want to home school?

Any way, Reegan got pictures done at school a couple of weeks ago so I thought I would post those. She is growing and learning so much. I can't believe she is going to be 14 months old. Time sure flys. Reegan has 4 teeth now. Her second top one broke through about a week ago. Hopefully by the time she is 2 she will have a mouthfull!

Morning Sickness....

Well I was hoping that this pregnancy was going to be different and hopefully I wasn't going to have any morning sickness. Well was I wrong. I have been really nauseous the past couple of days but nothing major. I could just eat it away. But yesterday afternoon when I got home from work I was really sick. I felt really bad for Reegan because Nick wasn't home and I was just laying on the couch while she played with her toys. Nick got home and took care of her and put her to bed while I went to sleep at 7 pm! I woke up this morning at 1am throwing up. It has been horrible. I was supposed to go to work today to make up some hours I missed on Monday but that didn't happen. Oh well. I have a dr appnt. on Tuesday so I will have him prescribe me some pills. It's a little rough taking care of a 1 year old when all I want to do is lay on the couch. I forgot how hard it is to be pregnant and how tired I become. Hopefully this doesnt last long.

On a positive note Reegan has been growing up so fast and she is learning so much. She can now blow kisses and she loves dancing and twirling in a circle. She has also learned how to kick her feet. She is so funny. I will say "Reegan kick your feet" and she will sit on the ground and start kicking. Then she laughs. She thinks it's fun when mommy kicks her feet too. Reegan has also start climbing and opening the drawers in the kitchen. This evening while I was cooking dinner Reegan opened the cabinet climbed in and was standing in with the pots and pans. Then she took out a pan and sat in it. Of course she got stuck and started crying and if Nick hadn't taken the camera with him I would have caught it on camera. So yeah, Nick went out of town early this morning. He went up north with his friend to go scouting for deer or whatever else they look for. He is supposed to be back on Monday. Reegan is also talking so much. Of course most of it is still nonsense but she is on her way to full sentences. Here is a list of words she says: Momma, Dadda, bubba, shoe, okay, yeah, yes and thank you. I think that's it. That's about it for now. I have to finish my homework it was due yesterday and I absolutely forgot about it. OOPS!

EXCITING NEWS!

Baby number 2 is on the way. Nick and I couldn't be happier. I'm so glad Reegan is going to have a brother or sister so close in age. She is going to be able to play and show them the ropes.
