So Nick left on Thursday to go hunting and he wasn't supposed to be back till this coming up Sunday. First let me just briefly map out where he was hunting. He got drawn for an area in Patagonia which is right outside of Sonota which is about 30 minutes from Mexico. Well on Friday night Nick, Jeff and his wife Tonya and their almost 3 year old were at camp when all of a sudden Nick said it sounded like World War 3. He said there was just tons of gun fire really close to where they were at. Needless to say they jumped in the vehicles and headed into town. When they got there they called the police. Once the police finally showed up they informed them that the location where they had made camp was one of the "prime" areas for the Mexican cartel to smuggle drugs and illegals into Arizona!!!!! Nick called me and I was so scared, I just kept thinking what if something happens and I'm left as a widow at 25. I didn't know what to do. He told me they were going to pack up camp and drive to Tucson and rent a motel room for the night and he was driving home Saturday morning. I was so relieved that they weren't going to try and salvage the rest of the hunt. Seriously thank the Lord that nothing happened to them and everyone made it home safely. *WHEW*
On a positive note since Nick was home we got to go house hunting on Sunday. Our lease is up at the end of November but we want to find something before then so we don't have to rush out of our home now. A couple of months ago we were looking at buying a home but since we want to move out of Arizona in the next year or so and since the market is HORRIBLE right now, we figured it was probably for the best to just find something else to rent. Reegan and I went to lunch with my friend Kinsey (who is also my personal hair stylist and colorist) when Nick calls me and says he found a house. It's 2 bedrooms, 2 bathroom, 2 1/2 car garage for $775 a month. I'm thinking SWEET!!!! So I tell him to call the guy back and see if we can schedule an appointment to walk thru the house. Nick calls me back less than 2 mins later saying
"you need to be at the house at 2pm."
me: "I'm eating lunch"
Nick: "you better hurry your ass"
I'm thinking you know if this was switched around you wouldn't hurry to eat. So I had less than 1 hour to enjoy lunch with my friend. Made it to the house and walked thru. Absolutely love the house. Normally I wouldn't have wanted only a 2 bedroom but since I got rid of my computer (until I can afford a laptop, I didn't want all the cords around the baby) and we told Sarah she could have our spare bed for when she moved out on her own we didn't really need the wasted space. Plus the rent is cheaper that what we are paying now and it's way closer to the freeway which will save on gas. We got the application which has a 2ND score : no application fee and we will be dealing with the actual homeowner and not a 3rd party property manager! We filled it out and tried faxing it to him yesterday afternoon. Well, the poor old guy couldn't really figure out how to work his fax machine so I called him this morning to see if by some miracle he had an email address and would actually know how to use it. Well he did so I emailed it to him. Called him about 15mins after I sent it to him and waited while he logged onto his email account and listened while he reviewed the application then said..
"OK I'll rent it to you guys. When can you move in?"
I told him we could move in on Saturday and we figured out how much we will have to put down on the house. This guy is so nice, he is letting up pay extra each month to cover the last month's rent he originally wanted up front. We are so fortunate to have found this house. Not to mention for only 2 beds 2 baths I think this has more square footage then the house we are in now. I can't wait to be in our new home!!! AAAHHH.. I almost forgot it has a WORKING fireplace in the living room. I can not wait to decorate it for Christmas. We are truly so blessed to have found such a wonderful home to fit our needs. I have to work on Saturday for 4 hours so Nick will be in charge of starting the move and I will need to find someone to watch Reegan for a little while. If anyone is interested in having a precious little gorgeous baby girl to have fun and play with on Saturday, let me know, she's free for the day...or at least part of it. Sorry you will need to give her back as hard as it may be, and try to limit the cheek pinching I know it's tempting but she really doesn't like it. Trust me!
